NHS
This graph shows how NHS ambulance services are performing against the Government’s national required standards for calls that are classed as ‘Category A’ calls – those immediately life threatening incidents that must be responded to within eight minutes.
The figures down the left show the national average percentage of Category A calls that were attended within eight minutes.
Ambulance services must also measure ‘Category B’ calls – those that are serious but do not involve immediately life-threatening incidents and must be responded to within 19 minutes. Approximately 1 in 3 of all emergency calls made to ambulance trusts throughout the UK are non-urgent (or ‘Category C’) calls.
